The Great Weight Debate
I am honestly extremely tired of people (particularly women) shaming and making fun of thinner people. Just because I don’t have big boobs, or I don’t have a ‘womanly figure’ doesn’t mean that I am not beautiful or happy with the way I look. Being thin does not make me a bad person, being overweight doesn’t make anyone a bad person either, it’s the negative comments and the hate directed at anyone who is seen to be ‘anorexic’ or ‘underweight’ that makes you a bad person.
I am very thin, and I’ve never denied that, BUT I am incredibly healthy, I exercise every single day, I eat a well balanced diet and I’m proud of myself for looking after myself and taking the time to make sure that I eat well and exercise.
I have never starved myself, nor do I promote any kind of eating disorder or unhealthy eating and/or exercising habits. I feel extremely sad for anyone out there going through an eating disorder, but I do not want to be put in that basket!
No one should ever be ashamed of the way they look!! You should embrace what you have and celebrate your body and just be fucking HAPPY!
A lot of women are praised for posting images of themselves showing off their curves and thick bodies, yet we look down upon skinny girls who post images showing their ribs or their hip bones, and suddenly were ‘unhealthy’ and ‘need to eat something’. No women should ever have to think twice about posting a picture of themselves on any social media site because they’re afraid they might offend someone who is not as thin or as small as they are, if it’s okay for you to love your curves and be happy with your figure, then it is okay for me to love my ribs and my bones. That is all.
